Mindhead

Mindhead is a neurofunk and experimental drum & bass producer from Russia. The bio he gave Sonic Shift describes his sound as dark atmospheres, warped percussion and heavy bass, coming out of a background in experimental electronics.

He has been releasing since at least 2018, through the Russian neurofunk circuit: High Resistance, Close2Death, Live History and Invasion.

His first appearance on Invasion, Hellhound / Muck (INVSN019, 2 September 2018), was a two-tracker with Rieger — a collaborator he has kept working with since; Lying TV / Submarine followed on the same label in 2020. High Resistance put out the EPs Wasteland (July 2020) and Another Reality (February 2021). His most recent release is a 2024 remix, Смотри (Mindhead remix) for dиkо.

He mixes as well as produces. His SoundCloud holds tracks such as "Lumbago", "Death Factory", "Turbo Boost" and "Earth Pain", along with a guest mix recorded for Drop Dealerz in October 2022.

For Sonic Shift #2 he played a DJ set of experimental neurofunk — the second episode the show ever recorded.
